Satish Kaushik, a multi-talented veteran of the Indian film industry, has died at the age of 67. The cause of death is unknown, but the news was confirmed on Twitter by his friend, Anupam Kher. Satish was a beloved figure in the industry and his loss has left many in shock.

A Friendship of 45 years comes to an end

Anupam Kher expressed his grief on Twitter, stating, “I know ‘death is the ultimate truth of this world!’ But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Such a sudden full stop on a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti!” The two had been close friends for many years, and Anupam’s heartfelt tribute is a testament to their bond.

Tributes pour in for Satish Kaushik

Satish was a respected figure in the Indian film industry, and his loss has been felt by many. Actress Kangana Ranaut also paid tribute to him on Twitter, stating, “Woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director #SatishKaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man, I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti.”

Director Madhur Bhandarkar also expressed his shock at Satish’s passing, saying, “I am so shocked to hear the demise of actor-director Satish Kaushik ji, who was always vibrant, energetic and full of life, he will be missed immensely by the film fraternity & millions of admires, My deepest condolences to his family members.”

Holi Celebration with Friends

Two days before his passing, Satish celebrated Holi at Javed Akhtar’s home, where he was joined by Richa Chadha, Mahima Chaudhary, Ali Fazal, and others. Satish shared pictures of the celebration on Twitter, and it was his last post on the platform. In the photos, he was seen with colors on his face and outfit, wearing an orange T-shirt and white pants. Satish posed with his friends and captioned the post, “Colourful Happy Fun #Holi party at Janki Kutir Juhu by @Javedakhtarjadu @babaazmi @AzmiShabana @tanviazmi.. met the newly wed beautiful couple @alifazal9 @RichaChadha.. wishing Happy Holi to everyone (rose and hibiscus emojis).”

Satish Kaushik’s Legacy

Satish Chandra Kaushik was born on April 13, 1956, and was an alumnus of National School of Drama and Film and Television Institute of India. He acted in numerous films such as Ram Lakhan, Saajan Chale Sasural, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and became a household name for his portrayal of Calendar in Shekhar Kapur’s Mr India. He also directed several films such as Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Tere Naam, Kyon Ki, and most recently, Kaagaz with Pankaj Tripathi. Satish was last seen in Chhatriwali with Rakul Preet Singh and his upcoming film is Kangana’s Emergency, in which he plays Jagjivan Ram.
